The signatures on this have kind of plateaued. Reblog this because if a post about supporting gay marriage can get 1 million notes on Tumblr, we should be able to get 1 million signatures from Tumblr!
They’re not going to hit 1,000,000. They don’t have a chance. But I’m reblogging anyway because it’s a good cause.
Who says? There are way more than only 1 million people who think Amendment 1 is bullshit. There’s no reason in the world that this petition won’t reach 1 million signatures. It just needs exposure and for the people who come across it to actually sign it and spread the word. On Tumblr, on Twitter, on Facebook, every place they can. Hell, if a lot of people told a celebrity on Twitter about this petition and said celebrity told others about it, think how many signatures that would garner! I’ve even emailed tips to Perez Hilton about it. If enough people did that, someone with a bigger platform will be more likely to take notice and spread the word even more.
And now that Obama and Biden have come out in support of same-sex marriage, more and more people all over the country (and probably the world) have equal rights on their minds. There are millions of people who are fed up with having to fight for equal rights and who would sign this petition in a split second if only they knew about it. So that’s why we need to spread it in every place we can.
